The Addition of Sean Lockwood Rounds Out Senior Leadership Team

Colorado Springs, CO – March 15, 2021 – TouchMath, a leading provider of multisensory resources and curriculum that help students build a strong foundation in math, today announced the expansion of their senior leadership team, adding Sean Lockwood as their new Chief Executive Officer. This addition will enable TouchMath to expand on their reputation as a critical partner of schools and districts across the country.

Sean has over 20 years of professional experience in leadership, sales management, strategic marketing, and business development in the publishing, curriculum and education industry. Before joining TouchMath, Sean was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Junior Library Guild, a provider of curation services to K-12 school and public libraries throughout North America. Prior to that role, Sean was the Vice President of Sales for World Book, Inc., a provider of non-fiction reference products to schools, libraries, and consumers, as well as a Director of New Business Development at Time, Inc., a global media company, where he focused on developing and growing the QSP school and student fundraising platform.

“TouchMath has an outstanding history of serving districts, schools, educators, and most importantly, students with efficacious math resources and services,” said Sean. “I’m thrilled to join this passionate team and help continue their legacy of accelerating math learning outcomes.”

“Over the course of his career, Sean has fostered authentic relationships with stakeholders across the education ecosystem, and has a deep understanding of their needs,” added Dr. Sandra Elliott, Chief Academic Officer at TouchMath. “His approach to this work aligns with our mission and we’re looking forward to expanding TouchMath’s reach, scale and scope under his leadership.”

Over the last two years, TouchMath has focused on updating its award-winning multisensory program to accommodate for distance and hybrid learning. In 2020, they announced the formation of TouchMath University, a new way of giving educators and administrators customized professional learning to support using TouchMath. The company recently launched the first iteration of TouchMath PRO, a digital platform designed to help educators easily personalize intervention and remediation.

Sean has extensive experience with developing digital solutions for education environments. In his previous role at Junior Library Guild, Sean led the launch of JLG Digital, an innovative eBook and audiobook platform for classrooms and libraries. He also created JLG@Home Book Fairs, a groundbreaking online program to help parents find and purchase books for their student, shipped directly to their home, all while supporting their school library. During his time at World Book, Sean led the development and launch of World Book’s eBook platform and the refreshed relaunch of World Book Early World of Learning and World Book Student Databases.

“Sean brings a depth of industry knowledge, managerial experience, and exuberant energy to TouchMath and will contribute to our goal of expanding the product offering to serve a greater number of students,” said Jeff Tobin, Chairman of TouchMath. “We look forward to working with him in continuing to help solve the vast needs of educators, caregivers, and the K-12 education industry as a whole.”
