The Upper Grades Standards Edition Unit 2 (Addition & Subtraction Level 2) builds on previous learning extending the students understanding of 2- to 3-digit number addition and subtraction to 1,000. They will use various strategies with operations strengthening the relationship between addition and subtraction, applying sequences and patters as computational aids, and employing a wide range of visual cues. Activities are based on the Universal Design for Learning and follow the instructional strategy of moving from concrete to representational to abstract thinking and processing.
